Metal Chik, Victoria Tillotson, is leaving the studio in a recent video as she talks with an avid vintage jewelry collector and gets to touch and feel some wonderful antique jewelry primarily from the Art Nouveau era.
This French jewelry genre is known for its organic elements, leaves, plants, flowers, and of course, lots of semi-precious stones set in silver. They talk about the difference between the different forms of jewelry during the 1900s, and then give some fun tips on how to wear pins from all different time periods starting in the Victorian era and moving all the way through to the 1960s. I agree with them. I like pins, but I don't wear them much, so maybe my purse collection needs a pin make-over.
As an added tid bit at the end, they show some great jewelry from jewelry designer Victoria Strevens (www.victoriastrevens.com).
