Jane Diaz Jewelry

New York City native Jane Diaz has collaborated with Nepalese metalsmiths for fifteen years to create a unique handmade line of designer jewelry. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design, Jane designs her jewelry in her Soho studio, and then forwards them for production to Nepalese artisans. This production influence adds to the unique elements in her designs.

An academic background in cultural anthropology, fine art, and dance combined with a lifelong passion for ritual and ornamentation led Ms. Diaz to her success as a jewelry designer. You'll see the ages in varying elements that are medieval, pagan with hints of religion, especially in her ring designs, but also contemporary in her display of charms, as if things haven't really changed all that much.

Tying all her knowledge and interests together, Jane envisioned a collection of jewelry perfectly matched with the traditional fabrication techniques of Nepal. As the industrial world expands to consume many ancient crafts, Ms. Diaz values the one-of-a-kind distinction offered by the human touch in each and every piece.
